Progressive Wedding

Or – A Wedding in Two Acts

You’ve heard of a progressive dinner, where the guests gather at one house for appies, the next for soup, then salad, then the main course, etc…..  This all happens over one evening.  Well, this past year we’ve had a wedding that’s been progressive.  But not only that, there seemed to be two of everything.

First came the engagement ring:001. Engaged - April 18

Because the couple hadn’t shopped for a ring together, the groom opted for a simple solitaire that could be upgraded.  And a few weeks later, when shopping for wedding bands, THE RING was found:

The wedding dress was selected, measurements taken, and the order placed:

But before it arrived, a shopping trip with a friend found THE DRESS coming home in the bride’s hands:

A destination wedding presented its own challenges in ensuring that the marriage was legally recognized, so a civil ceremony was performed, with the groom in his Seahawks slippers:

The REAL wedding was in the Dominican Republic on November 30.  A good friend conducted the ceremony for them – this is the date they plan to celebrate their anniversaries in years to come:

The reception in DR was pure celebration:

But, the guest list was limited there, so a SECOND reception was held at home last weekend and everybody celebrated again:

Reception pictures are posted on Facebook. – more to come here.

We are more than thrilled to have another son, and absolutely delighted at this relationship.

  1. Peg that was some wedding. Progressive is right. I just love your pink and brown background. I think my quilting projects are out of the question til winter time again. I am loving the Modge Podge projects and fabric art. And of course getting ready for a wedding in May.
