Lynden - Day 1 of our vacation

We’re on vacation, will post our adventures as and when there’s time and internet access.

We headed out from home on Saturday afternoon, under glorious blue skies with almost no clouds in sight - ?a good omen for the holiday ahead?

Heading ultimately for the Oregon Coast, our first order of business needed to be groceries, thus the decision to stop at Lynden, Washington (only an hour from home) for our first night.

Our home away from home for the next 2 weeks: 002

We have all the comforts: heat, light, water, microwave.  The dog has her bed, so she’s happy:

The campground is beautiful with areas of natural woods006.Woods

Ponds that are apparently stocked with fish, but we didn’t see anybody catching

There was no bear warning, but they seemed to pop up everywhere

The signage reflected the Netherlands flavor of this lovely little town

Lynden used to be a favorite place to visit, but in latter years, there seems to have been little time.  Our trip to the grocery store was late in the day, and everybody was hungry, so we didn’t take time to explore the town – maybe on our way home.

  1. Somehow I've missed all these posts about your trip. I subscribe through blogspot - they seem to be falling down in their job. Great shots of Lynden - we are not far south of here - about 25 minutes - you should have waved when you went past. LOL
