A Pieceful Life

A Pieceful Life

I'm so glad that you stopped by, and hope that you enjoy your visit. Here you will find pieces of my life - quilting, cross-stitch, family, travel, friends.
My name is Peg - I am a 60ish wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend - and if we're not already related or friends, hope to become your friend too.
We live in the eastern end of the beautiful Fraser Valley, about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. Empty nesters, we have one son living just a few minutes away, our other son and daughter live in Alberta.
Comments are always welcome, always read - and answered if need be. Feel free to share, I love hearing from all my cyber-space friends.
Please do check out some of the links in my side-bar - you'll find other bloggers and fabulous people to visit.

Canada Day

Our little town does a good job of honoring Canada on her birthday.  We have a park right on the main street and various vendors come out to sell their wares, community service clubs and emergency services participate to keep up awareness of their contributions to the local community,  entertainers keep everybody amused and make for a happy atmosphere, a couple of games of street hockey are played (what else would we play in Canada?),

the national anthem is sung and our flag honored:

065  062

and cake is served:

As members of the local Emergency Services team, we were there with a table full of pamphlets about emergency preparedness, flags and suckers for the kids, flags and pins for the adults:

The fire department had a special ‘ride’ for the kids:

And I could only admire those who boldly advertised their nationality:

It was a fun day, and we got packed up just before the rains came.
