A day off and a promise

We took a day out yesterday and went to Bellingham WA with friends.  It was like a mini-holiday.

After visiting a couple of stores, we stopped at a casino for lunch – no gambling, just food for us.  The buffet atmosphere felt like a cruise ship buffet – we relaxed and chatted and laughed and a server was there to make sure our cups and glasses were full and plates were removed and wet-naps were available.  It was great – we’ll be doing that again!

One of our stops, of course, was at Joanne’s, where I managed to pick up these additions for projects I have in mind:002

Then a stop at Harbor Freight Tools for these beauties003 – yes it says carpet cutter blades, but believe it or not, they fit the Olfa rotary cutter.  So why would I buy them in a hardware store? Well, you know what they cost in a fabric store, for one in a package – unbelievably these are 2 in a package …… for a whopping $2!!  I loaded up!!  And got a few for my sister-in-law!

As we finished up at an outlet mall, and were readying to head home, the heavens blazed their glory – and the promise of bright skies in the morning:

A perfect ending to a perfect day.

Happy mini-holidays!    Blessings, Peg

  4. Sounds like fun. I too made a foray into the US of A today and spent money. Yummy fabric. Glorious day here too, but your sunset was fantabulous. Looks like you're still collecting for that mysterious fruit and vegetable project...
