A Pieceful Life

I'm so glad that you stopped by, and hope that you enjoy your visit. Here you will find pieces of my life - quilting, cross-stitch, family, travel, friends.
My name is Peg - I am a 60ish wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend - and if we're not already related or friends, hope to become your friend too.
We live in the eastern end of the beautiful Fraser Valley, about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. Empty nesters, we have one son living just a few minutes away, our other son and daughter live in Alberta.
Comments are always welcome, always read - and answered if need be. Feel free to share, I love hearing from all my cyber-space friends.
Please do check out some of the links in my side-bar - you'll find other bloggers and fabulous people to visit.

Hawaii–Day 11

Our plans for today had been made soon after our arrival in Hawaii – a tour to Hana.  Reportedly a road with 900+ curves in a 35-mile stretch, narrow and eventually becoming gravel, rental car companies decline the privilege of renters driving here.  So we booked a tour.

Iwi was a fabulous tour guide, keeping us entertained and informed throughout the day – and was a competent driver, allowing all of us to enjoy the views without worrying about what might be around the next corner.  And the corners seemed never-ending!

We saw so many sights, and plant-life that I can’t begin to share them all with you.  I’ll do separate posts on flora – and lava!

Honomanu Bay provided glorious views of the ocean:08.Honomanu Bay

We ‘met’ a sleeping Monk Seal:

At one stop Iwi fashioned a bird from a palm leaf – and perched it on Grizz’s head:

Other sights and activities along the way:

A banana bread stand:

A fisherman with his octopus catch:41.Octopus catch

Pools at Oheo:

Mongoose chasing birds:

Charles Lindbergh’s grave:

  1. Looks like you missed the snow. Apperently Florida was the only state not to have snow on Tuesday.
