A Pieceful Life

I'm so glad that you stopped by, and hope that you enjoy your visit. Here you will find pieces of my life - quilting, cross-stitch, family, travel, friends.
My name is Peg - I am a 60ish wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend - and if we're not already related or friends, hope to become your friend too.
We live in the eastern end of the beautiful Fraser Valley, about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. Empty nesters, we have one son living just a few minutes away, our other son and daughter live in Alberta.
Comments are always welcome, always read - and answered if need be. Feel free to share, I love hearing from all my cyber-space friends.
Please do check out some of the links in my side-bar - you'll find other bloggers and fabulous people to visit.

It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, a special time to reflect on the things for which we are thankful.

So what am I thankful for?

  • a loving husband, who takes care of all of us, especially when the ceiling light bulbs burn out
  • 40 years (almost) of marriage
  • three fabulous children, who never fail to amaze and delight
  • three more wonderful children, married to our children, who just add to the joy in our lives
  • parents who are in reasonably good health, and who still live independently, and who love us no matter what
  • siblings (both mine and Grizz’s) who are a delight to share time with and who keep life interesting
  • good health for myself
  • a home that is comfie and warm and has enough space for me to quilt
  • friends who share and care and (some) who like to play cards
  • the trip we’ve just enjoyed
  • vehicles that break down before the warranty’s run out
  • neighbors who watch out for us and our house and make sure all is safe and secure
  • blogger-land friends who link me to the world outside, and who are interested and interesting
  • vets (including DDIL2) who take care of our pets
  • sunshine in October!
  • two turkey dinners coming up
  • and so much more, more than I can tell!

Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (Columbia Day) weekend with family and friends, and lots of turkey!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving...have a lovely weekend!

  2. Happy Thanksgiving weekend. We don't do much down here for Columbus Day except that the stores have gigantic sales - seems kind of weird, but I guess that is how they make their money - luring some of us into the stores. I don't even go to town this weekend - too many people and cars and rushing. I think we'll take a drive up north a bit today, we've been thinking of crossing over and visiting some of the bird viewing spots in Canada on of these days - maybe we could meet up if we decide to do that - before the rains come - will have to hurry. :-)

  3. Hope you had a good one. We're doing turkey next week while T & P and the NoJo are here. But we did enjoy a wiener roast around the fire pit - couldn't find turkey wieners, so we made do with chicken dogs!
