A Pieceful Life

Welcome

I'm so glad that you stopped by, and hope that you enjoy your visit. Here you will find pieces of my life - quilting, cross-stitch, family, travel, friends.
My name is Peg - I am a 60ish wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend - and if we're not already related or friends, hope to become your friend too.
We live in the eastern end of the beautiful Fraser Valley, about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. Empty nesters, we have one son living just a few minutes away, our other son and daughter live in Alberta.
Comments are always welcome, always read - and answered if need be. Feel free to share, I love hearing from all my cyber-space friends.
Please do check out some of the links in my side-bar - you'll find other bloggers and fabulous people to visit.

Wineries I

One of the goals of this trip was that our friends were going to be able to show us some of the wineries in the Napa Valley area of California.  We visited several, not all for the tastings.

Ferrari Carano winery has some of the most beautiful gardens we’ve ever seen:

At Sbragia, we ate lunch while sipping wine on their patio and enjoyed the unending view:

including a glimpse of Ferrari-Carano down the hill:

At Bella, the tasting room was in a cave:

Mondavi winery is one of the original of the Napa Valley and the wine trail, and the architecture tells of the Spanish roots of the family:109111110

At Sutter Home wines we enjoyed not just the tasting of wines, but the samples of other wine-based products like salsas and dips.  Here, there’s a B and B where I’m sure I could relax for several days:122125

There’ll be more!              Blessings, Peg

  2. Beautiful trip Peg. Wines have become a biggie recently here in Bardstown too. Good for the tourists.

  3. Peg that trip would be right up my alley. We often have Mondavi wines. Very good.
It looked very hot out there.

  4. What a wonderful trip so far. DH and I visited Napa Valley when we honeymooned in northern California ... it was probably the most enjoyable part of our trip. Seeing your pictures brought back fabulous memories. So glad you're "taking us along".
