A Pieceful Life

Welcome

I'm so glad that you stopped by, and hope that you enjoy your visit. Here you will find pieces of my life - quilting, cross-stitch, family, travel, friends.
My name is Peg - I am a 60ish wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend - and if we're not already related or friends, hope to become your friend too.
We live in the eastern end of the beautiful Fraser Valley, about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. Empty nesters, we have one son living just a few minutes away, our other son and daughter live in Alberta.
Comments are always welcome, always read - and answered if need be. Feel free to share, I love hearing from all my cyber-space friends.
Please do check out some of the links in my side-bar - you'll find other bloggers and fabulous people to visit.

New Beginnings–May (and a Finish)

Actually I’m going to start with the Finish.  Per my pledge at the beginning of the year, I’ve managed another finish for this month:

Alphabet Story quilt:

003

And when you open the ‘pages’:

004

Each ‘page’ has its own animal, and on the left side, a few more words beginning with that letter:

005

006

The words are written with fabric pen, and more words can be added as grandchildren wish.

But the pledge was first for a new start every month, and now that this one is done, I’m ready to break out the fabrics for another project.  I’ll be making another of these:

138.Diaper bag

Using these fabrics:

007

- to make a diaper bag for little Peanut, due in October.  Cutting begins today!

I’m linking up with Thea at California Dreamin’.

And in case anybody’s wondering – yes, we’re still waiting for little Gracie.  All the efforts earlier this year to help her to be patient until she was strong enough to face the world, worked really, really well apparently.  Due date is not actually for another week, so we know whenever she arrives now, she’s strong and healthy.  Actually on one of her last US exams, she was sticking out her tongue – guess she feels like she’s told us, hey!

Happy beginnings and endings!             Blessings, Peg

  1. OH a darling and clever quilt - and such good news about baby Grace - it seems like the due date was so far away when things were touch and go - and now she's ready - hurray. Love the diaper bag fabrics too. How is Garry's new knee doing?

  2. That quilt is great and so is the diaper bag. I have been working on baby things as well as I recently found out I'm going to be a Grandma(this is the first) also in October. It is such an exciting time. Looking for recommendations on diaper bags, etc. I think I remember awhile back when you were making diapers and wondering what pattern you used.....I think I remember some really cute prints. I just remembered I could search your blog instead of asking questions. Hope all goes well with Gracie :)

  3. The quilt is so cute and the diaper bag too! Thanks for linking up. Do you have a pattern you follow for the bag? Forgive my brief comments but my bottom row doesn't work all the time and it's hard to type without those letters.

  4. Oh dear, the waiting! Praying that all goes well.
I had hoped by now that the magazine would have arrived, but Canadian post seems to have a mind of its own.
